At North York Chrysler, we take the safety of our customers seriously. That is why we put so much emphasis on the performance of the brakes on your new and pre-owned Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, RAM, and Fiat vehicle. Other than a noticeable loss of stopping power, there are a number of signs that it is time to get your brakes serviced by the knowledgeable professionals in our Service Centre.
Squealing: We've all heard a terrible squealing sound coming from a passing vehicle. However, what does it mean when it happens to you? Squealing can result from brake pads worn down to the wear indicators. The sound itself is your brakes giving you a heads-up that it is time to be replaced or serviced.
Pulsing: When you go to engage your brakes and you feel a strong pulsing, it may mean it is time to resurface or replace your rotors.
Scraping Sound: If you hear a scraping sound or feel a scraping in your brake pedal during usage, it may be the result of friction caused by a worn brake pad coming in contact with the rotor.
Change in Pedal Pressure: If you press on your brake pedal but it just doesn't feel right, you either need to have your brakes adjusted or your brake fluid levels need attention. It is best not to make this decision on your own and to see a certified mechanic.
If you experience one or more of these warning signs, then it is time to see a professional for a full brake inspection. At North York Chrysler, we offer complete brake inspections in our Service Centre. Our friendly and highly trained brake specialists will perform a number of diagnostic tests and services including:
Inspecting brake linings, drums and hydraulic system<
Adjusting parking brake cable<
Cleaning debris and corrosion
Lubricating caliper pins and backing plates
Road test and Car Wash<
The process of inspecting your brakes will ensure your safety and prolong the life of your Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, RAM, and Fiat. Delaying brake inspections or work can lead to major complications that can cost you thousands of dollars.
If our service team deems it, necessary we can perform a complete brake fluid flush. This process will remove contaminated brake fluid that can impair braking ability and also damage hydraulic components. Flushing brake fluid also can restore the firmness of a brake pedal and prevent fade.
If all else fails, North York Chrysler has a complete selection of Mopar brakes parts including rotors, pads, calipers, and even brake kits that are each designed for a different purpose.
